Comparison of the 2019 Ford F-150 vs 2019 Gmc Sierra at Blainville Ford dealership near Mirabel

We often talk about the F-150 trucks and the GMC Sierra, and for good reason. They are two huge vehicles offering undeniable benefits. For those who are already diehard fans of these brands, it will be difficult to opt for the competitor, but for those who are at a crossroads and who want to make a wise choice, this article is for you.

Blainville Ford on the North Shore, near Saint-Eustache, the Laurentians and Laval, presents its analysis of the F-150 and the 2019 Sierra Denali.

Let the Duel Begin

Truck enthusiasts love to feel the power and they will certainly feel the performance and legendary power of the gigantic F-150. It comes in six motor versions - depending on the model chosen – with three types of configurations, namely 2.7-litre V6s and 3.5-litre V8s, and an EcoBoost engine with dual turbochargers and direct injection. They respectively produce 325 hp and 375 hp and 425 lb-ft and 470 lb-ft of torque (force of the engine's rotational movement), while the 5.0-litre V8 engine delivers 385 hp and 397 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 can also be equipped with a Power Stroke turbo diesel V6 engine. Finally, Ford's popular Raptor offers a 3.5-litre V6 engine with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque for adventurous driving on demanding off-road terrain, with improved suspension with continuously-variable FOX compression damping. The 2019 Sierra Denali, on the other hand, produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque with its 6.2-litre V8 engine. In this respect, the F-150 is quite easily ahead of its rival, the 2019 Sierra Denali.

In terms of towing capacity, there are no significant differences between the crew cab and extended F-150 and long and short box Sierra Denali models. The maximum capacity of the F-150 is 5,443 kg (12,000 lbs) and 5,534 kg (12,200 lbs) for the Sierra. The differences are more evident in the crew cab version of the F-150 and the long box Sierra Denali. The F-150 is well ahead of its rival with a maximum towing capacity of 5,987 kg (13,200 lbs) compared to 5,443 kg (12,000 lbs) for the Sierra 2019; another advantage for the F-150.

In addition, while both vehicles offer excellent handling, it is often said that the Sierra Denali offers unlimited elegance and comfort, but on closer inspection, the interior layout does not appeal to everyone, while the F-150 offers a spacious interior with generous rear legroom (crew cab) and plenty of storage space with the added benefit of a very user-friendly SYNC 3 system.

Even more interesting is the F-150’s factory-installed towing assistance system, a system that assists you in your towing and parking manoeuvres. As of 2019, the Sierra does not offer such a system, but this will change in 2020. Ford has succeeded in getting ahead of its competitor by introducing new pro reverse features, making it easier than ever before to reverse and park a trailer. This device was launched in 2016 and was first in the truck industry; another point for the 2019 F-150.
