2022 Ford Escape PHEV
The Ford Escape PHEV is the ideal vehicle to take the step to electric power without compromising on charging. Based on the traditional Ford Escape, it offers the same comfort and charming silhouette but adds a 100% electric range that helps protect the environment while significantly reducing fuel consumption.
Two engines
To propel the little SUV, Ford relies on a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that provides a total of 221 horsepower, transmitted to the front wheels by an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. Thus equipped, the small SUV offers an acceleration of 8.9 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour but has an average consumption of 5.2 litres per 100 kilometres.
Electric too
The Ford Escape PHEV relies on a 118-horsepower electric motor powered by a 14.4-kWh lithium-ion battery to back up its gasoline engine and achieve this power and economy. After a 3.3-hour charge at a level-two charging station (or about 10 hours at a single 120 outlet at home), you'll have a fully charged battery, good for about 60 kilometres of 100 percent electric range. Four EV driving modes are included to allow the driver to make the best use of the battery: auto, EV Now (which forces full EV mode until the battery is discharged), EV Later (which causes the internal combustion engine to work full time and reserves the battery for later use), and EV Charge, which optimizes battery recharging through braking and the internal combustion engine while driving.
Modern interior
The Ford Escape PHEV offers a range of accessories worthy of a luxury vehicle inside the cabin. Depending on the version, the optional digital instrument cluster provides plenty of information, thanks to the optional SYNC3 system. A Bang & Olufsen system is available, turning the cockpit into a concert hall. CoPilot360 bundles safety options while connectivity is functional with the Ford Pass app that keeps you connected to your vehicle. The Ford Escape PHEV is comfortable and economical, meeting and exceeding requirements.
